Phyna Denied Entry to BBNaija Winner Imisi’s Birthday Party Over Livestreaming

Reality television star and social media personality, Josephina Otabor, popularly known as Phyna, has sparked online reactions after she was reportedly denied entry into the birthday celebration of Big Brother Naija Season 10 winner, Imisi.

The incident, which occurred on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, was captured in a video that has since gone viral on social media, showing the former BBNaija winner visibly upset at the venue. Eyes Of Lagos reports,

Phyna disclosed that she was stopped at the entrance of the event after refusing to discontinue a live broadcast she was streaming for her fans.

According to her account, event organisers and security personnel insisted that cameras and filming were not allowed inside the venue and requested that she put away her device before gaining access.

Phyna, however, questioned the necessity of the directive, describing it as unfair and unnecessary.

In the viral footage, the self-styled “Hype Queen” expressed frustration over what she described as selective enforcement of the rule.

She queried whether the same restriction would have been placed on other popular internet personalities, saying:
“If na Speed or Peller come here, una go tell dem make dem drop camera?”

Her reaction suggested concerns about double standards and unequal treatment of guests.

Phyna stated that security officials maintained that filming was strictly prohibited within the party venue, insisting the rule applied to all attendees.

Despite this explanation, the reality star said the situation left her embarrassed and disappointed, stressing that her intention was only to celebrate and support Imisi, not to disrupt the event.

The incident has continued to generate widespread reactions online, with fans and netizens divided over the matter.

While some users criticised the organisers for what they perceived as unfair treatment, others argued that private events are entitled to enforce strict security and filming rules, regardless of celebrity status.

As of the time of filing this report, neither Imisi nor the event organisers have issued an official statement regarding the controversy.
