Viral Fan Accuses Cubana Chief Priest of Taking His Glory Years After N500k Gift

A young man who went viral in 2022 after receiving a widely discussed “side-eye” from popular nightlife entrepreneur, Cubana Chief Priest, has resurfaced online, accusing the businessman of allegedly “taking his glory.” Eyes Of Lagos reports,

The fan, whose interaction with Cubana Chief Priest at a public event sparked massive attention on social media years ago, made the allegation in a recent video that has since gone viral.

Recall that in 2022, the young man became an internet sensation after a brief encounter with Cubana Chief Priest, during which the businessman’s facial expression was widely interpreted by social media users as dismissive.

Following the backlash and online debate that ensued, Cubana Chief Priest reportedly gifted the young man N500,000. In 2023, the fan later admitted in a separate interview that he had squandered the money.

In a dramatic turn of events, the young man returned to social media in 2025, claiming that his life had not been the same since receiving the cash gift.

He alleged that the money had brought misfortune into his life and suggested—without evidence—that Cubana Chief Priest may have spiritually “taken his glory” through the act.

In the viral video, the young man publicly appealed for Cubana Chief Priest to provide his bank account details so he could refund the N500,000.

Speaking partly in Pidgin English, he said the gift had caused ongoing problems for him and that he wanted to “recover his glory” by returning the money.

He also expressed frustration over persistent rumours online, claiming people wrongly assumed he had received millions of naira.

The young man further threatened legal action if Cubana Chief Priest failed to respond, stating that the original viral incident continued to affect him emotionally and socially.

The video has sparked mixed reactions across social media platforms, with some users mocking the claims, while others expressed sympathy for the young man’s apparent distress.

As of the time of filing this report, Cubana Chief Priest has not publicly reacted to the allegations.
