Portable Claims He Has Received ₦40 Million Ahead of Proposed Boxing Match With Carter Efe

Controversial Nigerian singer Portable has alleged that he has already received ₦40 million from organizers ahead of his proposed celebrity boxing match with skit maker and entertainer Carter Efe.

The claim comes weeks after music executive Soso Soberekon publicly pledged ₦50 million to support a fight between the two entertainers. Portable had initially dismissed the amount as insufficient, insisting he would only participate if the financial stakes were increased. Eyes Of Lagos reports,

In a recent statement, Portable said he has now received ₦40 million related to the proposed bout. He further alleged that businessman Emeka Okonkwo (E-Money) promised an additional ₦50 million plus a car if he defeats Carter Efe in the ring.

According to him:

“I’ve already received ₦40 million from the organizers of my fight with Carter Efe. Soso Soberekon offered me ₦50 million, and E-Money offered ₦50 million plus a car if I beat him.”

The announcement has generated widespread reactions across social media, with many Nigerians debating whether the fight is genuine competition or simply entertainment publicity.

Some users criticised the development, describing it as a distraction from more serious national concerns, while others praised Portable for turning the situation into a lucrative opportunity.

Despite the buzz, no official date has been confirmed for the proposed boxing match, and organizers have yet to release full details regarding the event.

Fans of both entertainers continue to anticipate whether the celebrity showdown will eventually take place.
