Peller Raises Alarm Over Alleged Family Threats After Fame

Popular content creator and entertainer, Peller, has opened up about a troubling strain in his family relationship, alleging that his rise to fame has triggered tension and threats from some relatives.

In a viral video making the rounds on social media, the entertainer claimed that since gaining recognition in the entertainment industry, he has been under intense pressure from certain family members who allegedly hold him responsible for obligations he never agreed to shoulder. Eyes Of Lagos reports,

Speaking emotionally in the clip, Peller expressed frustration over what he described as constant disturbance and unrealistic expectations from extended family members.

“My family wants to kill me with calls. Ever since I made it, they’ve been disturbing me. I’m the one paying my half-siblings’ school fees. What’s my business with them? We’re not even that close. It’s my father who had them, not my mom,” he said.

The content creator clarified that although he has offered financial assistance by paying school fees for some of his father’s other children, he does not believe he should be dragged into disputes or be made solely responsible for their welfare.

Fame and Family Pressure

According to him, the tension began shortly after he attained public recognition, with some relatives allegedly placing heavy financial expectations on him. Despite providing support where he could, Peller said he now feels unfairly targeted and overwhelmed.

His revelation has sparked conversations online about the pressures that often accompany celebrity status, particularly in societies where successful individuals are expected to cater to extended family members.

Fans and social media users have reacted with sympathy and concern, noting that fame can come with unseen emotional and financial burdens.

One user wrote, “Being famous doesn’t mean you owe everyone in the family. Stay safe, Peller.”

Another commented, “The struggle is real. Fame comes with family problems we can’t imagine.”

While some users urged the entertainer to prioritise his safety and mental health, others encouraged open dialogue and boundary-setting within families.

As discussions continue online, Peller’s story has once again highlighted the complex intersection between success, family expectations, and personal well-being in Nigeria’s entertainment landscape.
