Nigerian media entrepreneur Chude Jideonwo has sparked widespread reactions on social media after stating that many married men in Lagos secretly identify as gay.
Jideonwo made the comment while addressing speculation about his own sexuality following a recent interview with TVC Communications.
Speaking during an appearance on The Clarity Zone Podcast, the media personality dismissed the rumours while discussing broader societal issues affecting the country. Eyes Of Lagos reports,
Responding to online speculation after the TV interview aired, Jideonwo said he found the rumours ironic, suggesting that many married men in Lagos privately identify as gay.
“When the TVC interview came out, people started saying maybe I’m gay,” he said. “I found it funny because Lagos is full of married gay people.”
His comment has since generated mixed reactions online, with some people debating the reality of hidden sexual identities in society while others criticised the statement.
During the podcast conversation, Jideonwo also expressed concern about the increasing number of individuals promoting ritual-related services on social media platforms.
According to him, he recently came across several accounts advertising native medicine and spiritual services online, particularly on platforms like TikTok.
He said some individuals were even streaming live from shrines while interacting with viewers who were asking how to contact them.
“I have seen multiple people advertising rituals on TikTok. Some even go live from shrines, and viewers ask them how to reach them,” he explained
