Nigerian social media activist VeryDarkMan has issued a strong warning to human rights activist Omoyele Sowore over his pledge to secure the release of businessman BLord, who is reportedly being held at the Kuje Correctional Centre.
The controversy stems from allegations of defamation leveled against BLord, which reportedly led to his remand.
Earlier, Sowore had taken to social media to promise that he would intervene and ensure BLord’s release. His statement quickly drew attention online, prompting a sharp response from VeryDarkMan (VDM). Eyes Of Lagos reports,
Reacting publicly, VDM challenged Sowore’s involvement in the case, questioning his authority and warning him against interfering.
In his response, VeryDarkMan outlined a series of allegations against BLord, claiming the businessman used his identity without consent for promotional purposes.
According to VDM, the issue began in January when BLord allegedly used his image to advertise business ventures without approval.
He further claimed that BLord falsely presented him as an ambassador for certain services, including travel-related promotions, and circulated misleading content suggesting a business relationship between them.
VDM also alleged that fabricated materials, including a purported payment claim running into hundreds of millions of naira, were used to convince the public of a non-existent endorsement deal.
The activist maintained that these actions not only misrepresented his public image but also misled unsuspecting individuals who believed the endorsements were genuine.
He stressed that he never authorized any such promotions or received payments tied to the claims being circulated.
Amid the controversy, VDM issued a direct warning to Sowore, urging him not to interfere in the legal matter.
His comments have since intensified online discussions, with supporters and critics debating the roles of activism, legal accountability, and personal disputes in the case.
The situation continues to generate mixed reactions across social media, as many Nigerians weigh in on the allegations, the legal process, and Sowore’s involvement.
Observers note that the case underscores the growing intersection between social media influence, personal branding, and legal disputes in Nigeria’s digital space.
As the situation unfolds, all eyes remain on how the legal process will proceed and whether external interventions will have any impact. The controversy highlights the importance of consent, credibility, and accountability in the age of digital influence.
