“Goat Thief Loses Voice, Can Only Bleat and Cluck After Stealing Animals”

A bizarre and unsettling story is unfolding in Mombasa, Kenya, where a teenage boy, identified as Baraka Joseph, has allegedly lost his ability to speak—only able to mimic the sounds of goats and chickens, the very animals he confessed to stealing. Eyes Of Lagos reports,

The strange incident has gone viral on TikTok and other platforms, capturing the attention of thousands, with many debating whether the young man is faking it—or if he’s facing spiritual consequences.

🚨 Arrest and Confession

Baraka was reportedly apprehended near Majengo Sokoni after concerned residents alerted the Majengo Police Post to his suspicious behavior. Officers found the teen communicating in an extremely unusual way: by bleating and clucking like a goat and chicken.

Unable to speak normally, Baraka resorted to writing out a confession, admitting he had stolen two goats and two chickens from a local Kamba resident. He further claimed he sold the goats for KSh 3,000 and the chickens for KSh 1,000.

🚌 Mystery Begins After His Journey

Stranger still, Baraka said he had traveled from Nairobi to Mombasa on June 4, 2025, speaking perfectly well throughout the trip. But upon his arrival in Mombasa, he suddenly lost his voice—and began sounding exactly like the animals he stole.

Whether this is the result of mental trauma, a medical issue, or spiritual retaliation, remains unclear.

🧠 Social Media Erupts With Mixed Reactions

The video has sparked wild reactions online:

  • @Barnabas: “Was the lip shaking necessary? 😂😂😂”

  • @iammecuzamme: “Why do I feel like he is faking it 😂😂😂😂😂.”

  • @Major Minor: “This art should be used to fight corruption.”

  • @zeyzey: “How will he ever explain his case? 😅😂 No one can translate goat😂🤣.”

Others have jokingly called for the same “treatment” to be used on corrupt politicians, suggesting that spiritual justice might be more effective than the courts.

🔍 Spiritual or Psychological?

As speculation grows, the case continues to divide public opinion. Some believe traditional forces may be at work, punishing the young thief with poetic justice. Others think he may be mentally disturbed or trying to escape legal consequences by pretending.

Police have yet to confirm whether Baraka will undergo medical evaluation or spiritual cleansing.

✍ Final Thought

Whether you’re a believer in karma, African spiritual justice, or pure coincidence, Baraka Joseph’s story reminds us that crime may carry unexpected consequences—some too strange for explanation.
