BREAKING: Iran Strikes US Military Bases in Qatar and Iraq in Major Retaliatory Attack

In a dramatic escalation of Middle East tensions, Iran has launched missile strikes on US military installations in both Qatar and Iraq, reportedly in retaliation for earlier attacks on its nuclear infrastructure.  Eyes Of Lagos reports,

At least six missiles were fired by Iranian forces, targeting strategic US military bases, including the Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar — one of the largest US-operated facilities in the region.

Explosions Reported in Doha

Loud explosions were heard in Doha, Qatar’s capital, on Monday night, prompting widespread panic. Qatar’s government has since confirmed that Al Udeid base was struck, describing the attack as a “blatant violation of international law.”

Eyewitnesses reported emergency sirens and heightened security alerts in and around the affected areas.

Iran’s IRGC Confirms the Attack

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has officially acknowledged responsibility for the strikes, naming the retaliatory mission “Annunciation of Victory.”
According to Tasnim News Agency, a state-affiliated Iranian outlet, the missile attack is a direct response to the recent US bombing of Iranian nuclear facilities, which Tehran has condemned as an “act of war.”

US Military Yet to Release Casualty Report

As of now, there has been no official statement from the United States Department of Defense regarding the number of casualties or extent of damage. Military analysts say this strike marks one of the boldest direct actions by Iran against US forces since the 2020 killing of General Qassem Soleimani.

The situation is rapidly evolving, and governments in the Gulf region are reportedly on high alert amid fears of further escalation.

What This Means for Global Security

This development comes at a time of heightened global instability and could have significant implications for international relations, oil prices, and regional diplomacy. It may also test the strength of military alliances involving NATO, Gulf Cooperation Council members, and global powers with stakes in the Middle East.

Eyes of Lagos will continue to provide updates as more information becomes available.
