Ex-Driver Arrested for Stabbing Former Employer to Death, Caught Trying to Sell Victim’s Car
The Ogun State Police Command has arrested Ayomide Oluwadamilare, a 25-year-old man accused of murdering his former employer, Mr. Kola Adun, in cold blood and attempting to sell his vehicle. Eyes Of Lagos reports,
Mr. Adun, a resident of River Valley Estate, Ojodu Berger, was found dead with stab wounds in his home after neighbors reported a foul odor emanating from the building.
Gruesome Discovery Sparks Investigation
According to a statement issued by the command’s spokesperson, CSP Omolola Odutola, officers from the Ojodu Abiodun Division responded to a distress call on July 7, 2025, from concerned residents in Mubarak area, Akute.
“Upon arrival, officers forced their way into the premises on Ogunmoyero Street and discovered the lifeless body of Mr. Adun on the first floor. The body had visible stab wounds, and bloodstains were found at the scene. His Toyota Camry (LAGOS AAA 193 GC) was also missing,” said CSP Odutola.
Suspicion was first raised on Sunday, July 6, when a friend of the deceased arrived to take him to church but found the gate locked from the outside. Repeated calls to the victim went unanswered before his phone was switched off, prompting the friend to alert family members and notify the police.
Prime Suspect: Former Driver
Preliminary investigations revealed that Ayomide Oluwadamilare, the victim’s former driver, unlawfully gained access to the residence on Saturday, July 5, with the intent to rob. He then allegedly stabbed Mr. Adun to death and fled with his car.
Arrest at Point of Sale
A major breakthrough came when Oluwadamilare attempted to sell the stolen Toyota Camry to a car dealer in Ijede, Ikorodu. The dealer, sensing something suspicious, alerted the police, leading to the suspect’s immediate arrest at the point of sale.
The decomposed remains of Mr. Adun have been evacuated to Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital (OOUTH), Sagamu, for autopsy.
Case Transferred to SCID
CSP Odutola confirmed that the case will be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Abeokuta, for further investigation and prosecution.
