Former Super Eagles Striker Brown Ideye Calls Out Enyimba FC Over Unpaid Bonuses
Former Super Eagles striker, Brown Ideye, has publicly called out Enyimba FC over alleged unpaid match bonuses from the 2024/2025 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season.
The ex-international, who currently plays for the Aba-based club, took to his official X (formerly Twitter) page to express his frustration, claiming that both he and his teammates have not been paid since the end of last season. Eyes Of Lagos reports,

In his post, Ideye wrote:
“Because I get money, I should not ask for the one I worked for? Please pay me and the players last season’s match bonuses. @EnyimbaFC, the season ended in May, till now nothing. Next season will start next month.”
The 35-year-old striker, who previously played in top European leagues, emphasized that financial stability for players is crucial, regardless of their personal wealth.
N7,000 Daily Meal Allowance Revelation
This call-out comes just days after Ideye revealed that Enyimba FC paid players only ₦7,000 per day for meals throughout the 2024/2025 NPFL campaign, a revelation that sparked outrage among fans and football stakeholders.
Enyimba FC, one of Nigeria’s most successful clubs, is yet to officially respond to the allegations as of press time.
