Magistrate Nurudeen Layeni sent Kiere to Awarjigoh Correctional Centre after he entered a plea of not guilty. The court also directed that the case file be forwarded to the office of the Director for Public Prosecution (DPP) for legal advice. Eyes Of Lagos reports,
The next hearing is scheduled for August 21, when the court will rule on the bail application and consider the DPP’s legal advice.
Police prosecutor Edet Ekpo informed the court that the alleged incident occurred in April at approximately 6:00 PM, at Asheri Community Phase 2, Owode-Apa, Badagry, Lagos. Ekpo stated that the defendant engaged in sexual intercourse with the 16-year-old girl without her consent, specifically mentioning unlawful penetration.
The alleged actions violate Sections 137 and 261 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
