Nigerian singer Bella Shmurda has revealed how the tragic death of his close friend and collaborator, Mohbad, completely changed his outlook on life.
Speaking during a recent livestream with TikToker Joblaq, Bella explained that he is currently in a period of self-rediscovery, admitting that Mohbad’s passing reshaped his perspective. Eyes Of Lagos reports,
In his words:
“RIP… I don’t want to mention names. After he passed away, my brain reset, everything changed. The way I see things in life also changed.”
Reflecting further, Bella likened the shift in his mindset to lessons often shared by parents:
“There’s a time that our parents used to tell us when we misbehave, ‘Don’t worry, very soon you will understand.’ I’m currently in that phase where I’m starting to understand. I have understood certain things.”
Remembering Mohbad
Mohbad, born Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, died on September 12, 2023, under controversial circumstances that sparked nationwide protests and global calls for justice.
Since the tragic loss, Bella Shmurda has remained vocal about his grief, consistently paying tribute to Mohbad, whom he described as both a brother and musical partner. The “Cash App” crooner has also dedicated performances and songs to his late friend, ensuring his legacy lives on.
