“No Part of FCT Will Be Left Behind!” – Tinubu Commissions Ushafa-War College Road, Promises Inclusive Growth

In a landmark step toward improving infrastructure in Nigeria’s capital, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, represented by Vice President Kashim Shettima, has commissioned the newly dualised Ushafa to War College Army checkpoint road—a long-awaited project now hailed as a symbol of inclusivity and development in the Bwari Area Council of the FCT. “Today, we mark not just the commissioning of a road but the fulfilment of a promise,” said VP Shettima, reading Tinubu’s message to the community. “This road will now ease the burdens of traders, commuters, students, and healthcare workers.”

The dualisation is expected to:

  • Boost local economy and trade routes

  • Improve healthcare access and school commutes

  • Foster community pride and ownership

In a show of support for homegrown talent, the road project was executed by a Nigerian contractor, Abdul Val—a move Tinubu described as intentional.

“We’re not just building roads, we’re building jobs, skills, and national pride,” he added.

🏗️ Wike Speaks—and Dances

FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, known for his bold remarks, didn’t disappoint. He praised the coordinator’s diligence after expressing earlier doubts.

“I gave her sleepless nights,” he joked. “I visited the site over 15 times—even on weekends!”

He also took a playful jab at critics:

“Those who don’t want to see progress—may they not see at all!”

In a lighter moment, he teased the crowd about the Vice President’s love for his signature dance moves
