Ashgar, originally from Afghanistan and known for his dedication to youth football, collapsed suddenly on the pitch of the Feralpi Arena during a lunch break on Monday, July 1, 2025. Despite immediate medical intervention and being rushed to a nearby hospital, the coach sadly did not survive.
The training camp, jointly organized by Bayern Munich and local club BSG Stahl Riesa, was designed as a five-day experience for 119 young aspiring footballers from Riesa and surrounding regions.
In a statement shared via their official website, BSG Stahl Riesa said:
“During the lunch break, Ashgar collapsed on the pitch. In the afternoon, we received the heartbreaking news that he had lost his life in the hospital.”

Out of deep respect for Ashgar and his grieving family, Bayern Munich canceled the remainder of the training camp. The club also extended psychological support services to affected players, coaches, and their families.
