The incident occurred on Friday afternoon during a wedding ceremony in Unguwar Liman, Magama Jibia.

Adamu Idris, 45, allegedly fired a locally made rifle into the air in celebration.

The bullet struck Yusuf in the stomach, killing him, and also hit Shamsiyya Salisu in the waist.

Both victims were rushed to Jibia General Hospital, where Yusuf was confirmed dead, while Salisu is receiving treatment.

The Katsina State Police Command confirmed the arrest of Idris.

Recovered from him: a locally made rifle, one live cartridge, and one expended cartridge.
