Tragedy has struck the Nigerian entertainment industry as Vic Matt, the manager and close associate of BBNaija Season 10 housemate Bright, has been confirmed dead just days after being kidnapped in Enugu State.

Vic Matt, whose real name is Victor Tobechukwu Okoli, was an executive producer and film director. Reports indicate he was abducted on Friday near Ntachi Osa, a popular location in Enugu, and was later found dead after being shot. Eyes Of Lagos reports,

The heartbreaking news was shared by filmmaker Ben Cassie on Instagram, who described Vic Matt as a rare figure of integrity in an industry often riddled with rivalry and betrayal.

In her emotional tribute, she wrote:

“It is hard for some of us to see those who genuinely wish us well.
You always dropped words of encouragement even when I was most silent.
In an industry of snakes and scorpions, you stood different. All you wanted was to make good films. You were cool, calm, and intelligent.
To be kidnapped and killed is a heart-wrenching way to leave this earth. For all the times you made me laugh and looked out for me, thank you.”

Her statement also reflected on her personal experiences with betrayal in the industry, urging peace and collaboration over conflict.
