Nollywood Actress Foluke Daramola, Husband Kayode Salako Reportedly Part Ways After Over a Decade
Veteran Nollywood actress Foluke Daramola Salako and her husband, Kayode Salako, are reportedly no longer together after more than a decade of marriage, according to sources familiar with the situation.
Insiders claim that the couple’s relationship had been under strain for a considerable period before the reported separation. It is understood that Kayode Salako has since returned to live with his first family, while Foluke Daramola is said to be involved in a new relationship based in Abuja. Eyes Of Lagos reports,
Sources further revealed that the separation is not recent, noting that the couple may have been living apart for close to a year. Despite this, they reportedly chose to keep the development private, maintaining a united public image.
According to close associates, the decision to avoid public disclosure may have been influenced by Foluke Daramola’s political aspirations in Oshodi, Lagos, as well as a mutual desire to handle the matter discreetly.
Although the couple continued to appear cordial in public, insiders insist that the marriage had effectively broken down long before the reports surfaced. Both parties were said to have agreed to keep the situation away from public scrutiny.
In a recent Instagram post marking her husband’s birthday, Foluke addressed long-standing questions surrounding Kayode Salako’s previous marriage. She explained that she met him through legal means and was unaware of his first wife at the time. Describing their union as a partnership built on support, she acknowledged that the marriage experienced both highs and lows, referring to their 13 years together as “13 days,” a metaphor for its emotional ups and downs.
Reacting to accusations that she “snatched” her husband, the actress clarified that his first wife left the marriage willingly. She also acknowledged that Kayode Salako is a polygamist with children from multiple women, but maintained that she remained his only legally married wife.
Foluke Daramola has previously spoken candidly about her personal struggles. In a 2023 interview on TVC, she revealed that she lost her virginity through rape, an experience that deeply affected her relationship with intimacy.
She explained that the trauma shaped her perception of marriage and relationships, adding that her first husband did not understand her emotional scars and often pressured her for intimacy, an experience she described as painful and distressing.
