Fresh controversy has emerged in the family of late Nollywood legend John Okafor, popularly known as Mr Ibu, following allegations made by one of his sons against the actor’s widow.
In a video circulating online, Mr Ibu’s son alleged that his late father left behind numerous properties for all of his children but claimed that the actor’s widow took control of the assets for herself and her own children. Eyes Of Lagos reports,
According to him:
“My late father left a lot of properties for all his children, but his wife chose to take everything for herself and her own children.”
The allegations surfaced just days after the late actor’s widow publicly appealed for financial assistance, a move that generated sympathy from many Nigerians.
The son’s claims have since sparked heated reactions on social media, with some calling for transparency over the late actor’s estate, while others urged the family to resolve the matter privately rather than in the public eye.
As of the time of this report, the widow has not publicly responded to the latest allegations.
The development has reignited discussions about inheritance disputes, estate management, and the challenges that sometimes arise after the passing of public figures.
What do you think?
Should family inheritance disputes be settled privately, or is it acceptable for family members to speak publicly when they believe they have been treated unfairly?
