Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo has finally revealed the emotional reasons behind her unwavering support for comedienne Princess during the controversial Baba Ijesha rape case. Eyes Of Lagos reports,

In a heartfelt conversation on The Goldroom with Iyabo, the outspoken actress disclosed that she had personally experienced multiple incidents of molestation, making the case deeply personal.

“I really didn’t control my emotions then because I was outraged by what happened,” she said. “I had gone through whatever she went through multiple times… and I just felt like enough is enough.”

Iyabo Ojo explained that her past traumas shaped her reaction, leading her to become a fierce advocate for the alleged victim. She condemned the disturbing backlash Princess and the victim faced, expressing shock over how adults twisted the narrative.

“It made me realize how far we still have to go as a society when it comes to protecting our children,” she added.

The actress also called out her fellow entertainers, stressing that celebrities have a responsibility to lead by example.

“We are supposed to do right by our people. We are evangelists in our own way… we cannot be preaching and doing the same bad thing that we’re telling people is wrong.”

Iyabo Ojo’s stance drew widespread attention during the case, which exposed the broken systems surrounding child protection in Nigeria’s entertainment and legal spaces.
