UK-Based Nigerian Man Devastated as Wife Allegedly Sells His Properties, Disappears With Ex-Lover

A Nigerian man based in the United Kingdom has reportedly been left heartbroken after his wife allegedly sold off his properties in Nigeria and disappeared with her former lover. Eyes Of  Lagos reports,

The shocking story, which has sparked widespread reactions online, was shared on TikTok by a woman identified as @sommica, who claimed the man involved is her brother.

According to her account, the UK-based man met his wife on Instagram while living abroad. The pair reportedly chatted online for about six months before he travelled to Nigeria, where they met physically for the first time.

She disclosed that the relationship progressed rapidly, as the man proposed and married the woman within one month of meeting her in person.

The woman was said to have had a child from a previous relationship, a situation the man reportedly accepted without objection, taking responsibility for both mother and child.

Following their wedding, plans were made for the couple to relocate to the United Kingdom together. However, due to delays in processing her travel documents, the woman remained in Nigeria while her husband returned to the UK to complete necessary arrangements.

While still abroad, the man allegedly agreed to his wife’s request to relocate from Owerri to Abuja for a “change of environment,” despite the fact that she was reportedly still schooling in Owerri at the time.

During this period, he reportedly continued to send her money regularly, catered for her child’s needs, and even set up a shop for her to run.

Trouble reportedly began when the woman allegedly reconnected with her former secondary school boyfriend. The man, described as an errand runner based in Owerri, was allegedly invited to Abuja, where he was reportedly flown in and out, showered with gifts, and financially supported.

The situation reportedly came to light when the ex-boyfriend openly boasted during a gathering that his former girlfriend was sponsoring his lifestyle, allegedly backing his claims with photos and videos.

When confronted by her husband over the phone, the woman reportedly admitted to the affair.

The man was said to have instructed her to vacate his property ahead of his return to Nigeria. However, instead of complying, she allegedly sold off household items and disappeared with the ex-boyfriend.

The story has generated intense reactions on social media, with many Nigerians describing it as a painful reminder about trust, rushed relationships, and the dangers of blind love.
