Man Narrates How Girlfriend Dumped Him After He Sold His Car to Send Her Abroad
A Nigerian man has taken to social media to recount what he described as a heartbreaking experience after allegedly selling his car and spending his savings to support his girlfriend’s relocation to the United Kingdom, only for the relationship to end shortly after she arrived. The man, identified on X (formerly Twitter) as @sidney_sbm, shared screenshots and messages detailing the events leading up to and following his former girlfriend’s move abroad.
According to his account, he sold his personal vehicle and exhausted his finances to fund her travel, documentation, and initial settlement in the UK. He said the decision was driven by love and a desire to support her future.
In messages shared online, the woman reportedly expressed gratitude for his sacrifice before leaving Nigeria but admitted she felt uncomfortable about the extent of what he had done for her.
In one of the messages, she allegedly told him she feared he might regret selling his car and spending so much money on her relocation.
Two months after arriving in the UK, however, the tone of their conversations reportedly changed.
According to the screenshots shared by the man, his girlfriend later informed him that she had changed since relocating and was no longer sure she felt the same way about the relationship.
“I am a changed person now. I don’t know if I feel the same way anymore,” she reportedly told him in a message sent two months after her arrival in the UK.
The disclosure marked the end of their relationship, leaving the man devastated and regretful over the financial and emotional sacrifices he had made.
