Destiny Boy’s Remains Arrive in Ayetoro, Fans in Shock as Video Surfaces
A video showing the arrival of the remains of late Nigerian singer Afeez Adeshina, popularly known as Destiny Boy, has surfaced online, leaving fans and members of the public in shock and disbelief.
The 22-year-old Afrofuji artiste, whose death has been surrounded by speculation and rumours, was seen lying motionless after his body was brought down from a white bus upon arrival in Ayetoro. Eyes Of Lagos reports,
The viral footage, which has since circulated widely on social media, shows Destiny Boy’s body placed on the ground, with wool reportedly inserted in his nostrils, as a crowd of onlookers gathered around.
Many fans struggled to come to terms with the reality of the young singer’s death, expressing grief and disbelief online. Several social media users also criticised those who recorded and shared the sensitive moment, describing it as disrespectful.
In parts of the video, a man was seen wiping the singer’s face after what appeared to be a substance coming from his mouth, while voices in the background speculated about what they were witnessing. The clip quickly spread across platforms, triggering emotional reactions from fans and supporters.
Prior to the emergence of the video, various unverified reports had circulated regarding the circumstances surrounding Destiny Boy’s death.
Some claims suggested that the singer collapsed and vomited blood at the residence of a traditional healer, while others alleged possible poisoning. Additionally, clips purportedly showing Yoruba Ifa initiation rites also surfaced online, further fuelling speculation about ritual involvement.
As of the time of filing this report, none of these claims have been officially confirmed by authorities or the singer’s family.
Destiny Boy’s death has deeply affected fans and members of the Nigerian music industry, particularly as the singer had recently welcomed his first child, a development that has intensified the sense of loss.
