Controversial Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has once again stirred widespread reactions on social media following a bold claim about his place in the Nigerian music industry. Eyes Of Lagos reports,

In a viral video currently circulating online, the Zazoo Zeh crooner compared himself to legendary Afrobeat pioneer Fela Anikulapo-Kuti, declaring that no contemporary artiste comes close to his influence and popularity.

While addressing critics and fellow musicians, Portable dismissed suggestions that any artiste is bigger than him, insisting that his impact surpasses that of his peers.

According to him,

“I’m the newborn Fela. If you say you’re bigger than Fela, then I’m bigger than you. Nobody blow reach me.”

Portable’s comments come amid ongoing online debates involving Seun Kuti, Wizkid, and members of Wizkid FC, which have dominated social media conversations in recent days.

The singer, who recently regained his freedom after being released from prison, has remained highly visible online, often making controversial statements that attract both criticism and praise.

As expected, reactions to the video have been mixed. While some fans applauded Portable’s confidence and self-belief, others criticized the comparison, describing it as unnecessary and disrespectful to the legacy of Fela Anikulapo-Kuti.
