“I Campaigned for Tinubu, I Got Nothing” – Veteran Actor Lalude Blasts APC, MC Oluomo Over Broken Promises

Renowned Nollywood actor Fatai Odua, popularly known as Lalude, has publicly called out the All Progressives Congress (APC) and MC Oluomo over what he describes as neglect and betrayal, months after he campaigned for the ruling party during the 2023 general elections. Eyes Of Lagos reports,

In a raw and emotional interview now trending on social media, the veteran Yoruba actor voiced his deep frustration and disappointment, saying neither he nor fellow actors received any form of appreciation or reward despite their visible support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

“After we campaigned for Tinubu and Sanwo-Olu, we were not given a dime. If I should place a curse on them, it will follow them throughout life,” Lalude said.

🎭 “We Worked with Sweat and Loyalty”

According to Lalude, he and other actors dedicated nearly two months of their time, energy, and public reputation to help secure victory for the APC during the last election cycle.

He revealed that it was MC Oluomo, Chairman of the Lagos State Parks and Garages Committee, who organized the entertainers and personally promised to fulfill certain requests made by himself and fellow veteran actor Alapini.

“It was MC Oluomo that gathered us to campaign. He personally promised Alapini and I that we should ask for anything. We told him what we wanted — he didn’t fulfill it,” Lalude lamented.

💔 Promises Made, Promises Broken

The actor made it clear that he feels used and discarded, saying all post-election assurances were ignored once power had been secured.

“Those that prevented us from receiving money shall be cursed for life,” he added, visibly pained.

His outburst reflects a broader trend of dissatisfaction among grassroots campaigners and cultural influencers, many of whom claim they were promised jobs, contracts, or financial rewards in exchange for their support.

🗣️ Social Media Reactions

The video has sparked a range of reactions online, with many sympathizing with Lalude’s honesty, while others criticized the culture of expecting political compensation after campaigning.

  • @AdunniLagos: “So sad to see legends like Lalude begging for what they were promised. Why use them if you can’t honor your word?”

  • @OluwaJuwon: “Politicians always use celebrities and dump them. They should learn from this.”

  • @NaijaConscience: “Let’s also remember: political support should be for vision, not money. But betrayal still hurts.”

📌 The Bigger Question

Lalude’s public callout reignites a larger conversation: Should entertainers expect compensation for political support? And if promises were truly made, who should be held accountable?

As the story unfolds, neither MC Oluomo nor APC leadership has issued an official response.
