Some individuals claiming to be students of Adeleke University have raised concerns over alleged poor living and learning conditions at the institution, despite the high tuition fees reportedly paid annually.
In a video currently circulating on social media, a complainant alleged that students at the private university pay no less than ₦2.5 million per year, yet continue to face significant challenges on campus. Eyes Of Lagos reports,
The message accompanying the video expressed frustration over the situation.
“Adeleke University with suffering and smiling. They pay nothing less than ₦2.5 million per year to be constantly treated like animals,” the message read.
According to the complainant, essential services such as water supply and electricity are reportedly inconsistent, making it difficult for students to attend classes and carry out daily activities.
The message also alleged that the institution’s food services and medical facilities are inadequate for students who depend on the school for their daily welfare.
“Students can’t make it to class because something as simple as water and light cannot be provided for them. Their food and medical system is bad,” the complainant claimed.
The allegations have sparked conversations online, with many users questioning whether private universities charging high tuition fees should provide better living conditions for students.
The complainant further alleged that many students are reluctant to publicly speak about the issues due to fear of disciplinary action.
According to the message, some students believe that openly criticizing the institution could lead to severe consequences.
“Every student is so scared to speak out because they expel them the moment they do,” the message claimed.
The individual ended the message by appealing to Nigerian music star Davido to intervene by bringing the alleged issues to the attention of his father, Adedeji Adeleke, who founded the university.
“Davido please talk to your dad,” the message concluded.
As of the time of filing this report, the management of Adeleke University has not released an official response regarding the allegations circulating online.
