Mohbad’s Father Seeks Help Over Burial Delay, Requests DNA Test for Grandchild

The father of late Nigerian singer Mohbad has made a heartfelt public appeal for support as he continues to postpone his son’s burial due to the need for a DNA test.

In an emotional statement, he explained that confirming the paternity of a child believed to be his grandchild is critical before proceeding with Mohbad’s burial. According to him, burying his son without conducting the test would make resolving the matter impossible in the future. Eyes Of Lagos reports,

“I’m pleading to the entire world, not just Lagos, for help. I’ve been trying to reach President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to intervene. I need to conduct a DNA test so I can finally lay my son to rest. It’s heartbreaking that it’s taking so long to bury him. However, if I bury him now, how will I do the DNA test? Who will I test? I want to do the DNA test to know my grandchild,” he said.

This latest development adds another layer to the ongoing discussions surrounding Mohbad’s untimely death, which occurred in September 2023. Fans and Nigerians continue to follow the situation closely, expressing concerns about both the family dispute and the delayed burial.

The father’s insistence on confirming the grandchild’s paternity highlights the emotional and legal complexities faced by the family, as well as the importance of clarity before finalizing funeral arrangements.
